My story

Animals are life.

Animals have always been a central part of my life. There’s a special connection that forms when you spend time with animals, one that’s built on trust, understanding, and unconditional love. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been the person who stops to pet a passing dog or who can’t resist saying hello to a cat lounging in the sun. This deep-rooted love for animals has shaped my life in so many ways, and it’s the reason I’ve devoted myself to dog sitting and cat sitting.

My lifestyle is perfectly suited to this type of work. My husband and I work from home, which gives us the flexibility to be present for the animals in our care. We don’t have any pets of our own at the moment, and while our hearts are still healing from the loss of our last two pets, we find immense joy in being able to care for and love the pets of others. We understand that pets are family, and the responsibility of caring for them is something we take very seriously.

Our last two pets were a significant part of our lives for 15 and 14 years, respectively. They were more than just animals to us; they were companions, confidants, and a constant source of joy. As they aged, their needs became more complex. They required careful attention to their health, with regular medications and appointments that had to be meticulously managed. I remember creating spreadsheets to keep track of everything—medication schedules, vet appointments, special dietary needs. It was a labor of love, and one that I embraced fully because I knew it was what they needed to live their best lives.

When they passed, it left a void in our hearts and our home. The routine of caring for them, the sound of their paws on the floor, the comfort of their presence—all of it was suddenly gone. But rather than closing off from the pain of loss, I chose to channel that love and care into helping other people’s pets. I know how important it is to have someone you trust to look after your pets when you can’t be there, someone who will treat them with the same care and attention that you would.

Every dog I walk, every cat I care for, is a reminder of the joy that animals bring into our lives. It’s not just a job for me; it’s a calling. Being able to spend my days with animals, to ensure they’re happy, safe, and well-cared for, is something that gives me profound fulfillment. I believe that pets deserve the very best care, whether their owners are away for a few hours or a few days. I’m grateful that I can provide that care, offering peace of mind to pet owners and companionship to their beloved animals.

This work has also brought a sense of purpose to my life. It’s a way for me to give back to the animals who have given me so much. I may not have my own pets right now, but through my pet sitting, I feel like I have an extended family of fur babies who bring joy, love, and a sense of belonging into my life every single day.

I look forward to looking after your pet.
